Content ID matches for BUZZR airings of game shows on YT

BUZZR has officially launched. And for every BUZZR broadcast of a classic game show uploaded to YouTube, users will usually get hit with content ID matches from Fremantle International, which owns FremantleMedia North America's new channel.

YouTube users with BUZZR clips can still upload them to the site, but they can possibly get hit with content ID matches afterwards, because the copyright owner can attempt to put advertisements in the videos. In addition, Fremantle International can monetize the BUZZR clips.

My BUZZR clips will have to be Dailymotion exclusives because of content ID matches against the BUZZR clips on YouTube. My TV clips are always Dailymotion exclusives, so I can only upload the TV clips to Dailymotion instead of YouTube.

No more new Simpsons DVD and Blu-Ray releases, says Al Jean

Al Jean, the show runner of The Simpsons, says on his Twitter account that there will be no more new DVD or Blu-Ray releases of The Simpsons, and future releases will be available for digital distribution.

That's why 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment decided to stop making future Simpsons seasons to DVD.

Nighttime Sale episodes pulled from a YT channel

A fan of Sale of the Century decided to pull some episodes of the 1985-86 nighttime syndicated run from a YouTube channel which reverted to the "sally walsh" name.

I've only uploaded TV game show clips to Dailymotion to avoid getting any copyright trouble on YouTube. I've kept credits sequences from the first three weeks of nighttime Sale, plus four episodes from the fourth week and the last few weeks of season 1, along with credits sequences from quite a few season 2 episodes.

Tampa Bay TV

I know stations that used to air many network and syndicated game shows and other shows in the past.

WFLA-8 signed on the air in 1955 in black and white, but in that same year WTVT-13 signed on the air as a CBS station. 13 is now a Fox station.

The Price is Right, with Bob Barker, premiered on September 4, 1972 on 13, which aired the show until 1994 when 13 became a Fox station. A lot of CBS primetime shows had aired on 13.

Magnum PI, which now airs in syndicated repeats, first aired locally on 13 for its entire run. The original NBC version of Baywatch aired locally on 8 for its entire run before it could be moved to syndication. Seinfeld also aired locally on 8 for its entire run, but is now in local repeats on WTTA-38.

Jeopardy! returned to the air on September 10, 1984 on 8 (when it was WXFL) and aired on that station until September 1985, where it was moved to 10 when it was an ABC station (now CBS).

I think J! and the nighttime Wheel of Fortune actually stayed with 10 until September 2007. 10 aired Wheel every Monday through Saturday at 7:00 unless preempted for CBS Sports coverage such as the NCAA men's basketball tournaments. Wheel and J! moved to WFTS-28 from Tampa and WWSB-40 from Sarasota from September 2007 to September 2012 when both shows moved back to 10.

In the 1980s, 8 was one of the NBC stations to air reruns of Card Sharks, and starting in the fall of 1988, because of local news at noon, 8 put Super Password at 11:30 and preempted Scrabble for reruns of Alice after the news, at 12:30.

When I was a kid, on the days I skipped school, Maury Povich's talk show used to air on 10. It's now called Maury, and it later moved to 8 in the fall of 2000. Maury has been on 38 for a long time.

Also when I was a kid, The Jerry Springer Show and the original Ricki Lake Show were both on 13. Springer and Ricki would later move to WMOR-32, but Ricki was cancelled in 2004 and  returned in 2012 on WTOG-44. The 2012 revival aired on 44 for its entire run. So I watched Springer, Ricki, and The Rosie O'Donnell Show on 13 whenever I skipped school.

Another old talk show from when I was a kid was Sally Jessy Raphael. I used to watch Sally when I was a kid, first on 10 and later on 8. Sally moved to 8 for the rest of its run. Yet another talk show was The Jenny Jones Show and it was my mother's most-favorite talk show. After airing on 8, Jenny Jones  aired on 13 for a few years, before moving to 44 for the final season, but cable reruns of Jenny Jones aired on Superstation WGN (now WGN America). When Jenny Jones aired on 13 at 1:00 in the afternoon, it was followed by Springer at 2:00, Ricki at 3:00, and Rosie  at 4:00.

I also remember Real TV, a show that had been on the air since 1996. When it premiered, it aired on 13, but in 1998 it moved to 10. Later, the show moved to WTOG-44 for the rest of its run. I grew up watching reruns on the show, first on TNN/Spike TV and later on Fox Reality Channel. TNN/Spike picked up Real TV with the 1999-2001 seasons but later added the 1996-1999 seasons. The 1999-2001 seasons were later dropped, and the 1996-1999 seasons stayed on TNN/Spike. Fox Reality aired only the 1996-1999 seasons.

Local reruns of Sabrina the Teenage Witch and Clueless aired on 44 starting in the fall of 2000, but I remember watching them as a kid as well. I remember watching the PAX version of Supermarket Sweep locally on WXPX-66, but PAX is now ION Television and 66 has been affiliated with ION since it replaced I (Independent Television).

Another talk show I remember watching, The Montel Williams Show, aired on 28 during the late 1990s, but would later move to 8 for the rest of its run. The Oprah Winfrey Show was another talk show I remember watching.

Sale and Pyramid replaced by others on GSN

There are two changes that had been made to GSN's weekday morning lineup on Monday. The network replaced the 1985-86 nighttime version of Sale of the Century with the 1997-98 season of Shop 'til You Drop (first aired on The Family Channel) and the 1982-88 $25,000 Pyramid was replaced by Catch 21.

However, both Jim Perry versions of Sale of the Century including most of the 1985-86 nighttime version (from GSN repeats) can still be found on the Internet (on YouTube and Dailymotion).

Jim Perry's Sale of the Century can still be found on the Internet!

After GSN dropped Jim Perry's Sale of the Century on Friday to make room for the Family Channel version of Shop 'til You Drop with host Pat Finn the following Monday, I'm excited to announce that Perry's versions of Sale can still be found on the Internet (on YouTube and Dailymotion).

You can watch any episode of Sale that's available on the Internet anytime of day or night, rain or shine.

Jim Perry's Sale of the Century should still be available on the Internet

Not only that,  but Sale should move to a different TV network such as Buzzr TV.

GSN will soon drop Sale, which will still be available on YouTube and Dailymotion.

Wheel, Jeopardy, and Feud renewed

Wheel of Fortune, Jeopardy, and Family Feud have been renewed for more seasons because Wheel host Pat Sajak, Wheel hostess Vanna White, and Jeopardy host Alex Trebek have all signed on to more seasons of Wheel and Jeopardy. Steve Harvey signed a deal to host five more seasons of Family Feud. But after the 2017-18 season of Jeopardy, Alex Trebek should continue hosting Jeopardy until he dies.

Because Pat and Vanna have signed on to more seasons of Wheel, Jim Thornton should return as announcer for those seasons, and because Alex has signed on to more seasons of Jeopardy, Johnny Gilbert should return as announcer for those seasons or until he dies in the future.

BUZZR to launch on 6/1

A second game show network owned by FremantleMedia and called Buzzr TV will launch on June 1!

It should feature a bunch of classic game shows from the Goodson-Todman/Mark Goodson Productions library like Card Sharks starring Jim Perry, Bob Eubanks, and Bill Rafferty, Family Feud starring Richard Dawson, Ray Combs, Louie Anderson, Richard Karn, and John O'Hurley, Beat the Clock starring Bud Collyer, Jack Narz, Gene Wood, and Monty Hall, I've Got a Secret starring Garry Moore and Steve Allen, Password (the CBS and ABC versions) starring Allen Ludden, Password Plus, Super Password, all episodes of The Price is Right starring Bob Barker, nighttime Price starring Tom Kennedy, Body Language, Child's Play, Now You See It starring Jack Narz, Match Game starring Gene Rayburn, and Hall's most-famous game show Let's Make a Deal. Buzzr TV should also feature both the daytime and nighttime versions of Perry's Sale of the Century and the 1984-90 run of Scrabble.

If Buzzr TV launches and GSN loses the rights to air the Goodson-Todman/Mark Goodson library and Sale, they should get the rights to the Barry & Enright library back, such as The Joker's Wild and Tic Tac Dough, and GSN should also re-acquire Wheel of Fortune, Jeopardy!, and The $100,000 Pyramid along with a few other classic game shows in the Sony library.

Bright House Pasco County channel lineup changes of the past and present

New Changes for the New Year!

Bright House Networks moved a few channels to newer locations early this year.

QVC was originally on channel 7, but is now on channel 21.
WTTA channel 38, originally on channel 15, is now on channel 6.
WVEA channel 62, a Univision station, originally on channel 21, is now on channel 15.
WRMD channel 49, a Telemundo station, originally on channel 97, is now on channel 19.

When Bright House Was Time Warner Cable in Tampa Bay

When Bright House was Time Warner Cable in Tampa Bay, in 2002 they introduced new channels to their permanent lineup. The then-new channel lineup first appeared at my uncle Martin Stanbery's old house before becoming a channel lineup before 2003 (when Time Warner became Bright House by the spring of that year).
