What I think of my favorite game show reruns

There have been syndicated packages of classic game show reruns, even in the past.

WFLA-8 (NBC in the Tampa market) aired reruns of the original Card Sharks by 1982, as I was watching a YouTube video showing a 1982 rerun of Jim Perry's Card Sharks that had a full credit roll. There have also been syndicated reruns of two shows starring Bill Cullen: the original versions of The $25,000 Pyramid and Blockbusters. Match Game PM has also aired in syndicated reruns in the mid 1980s.

WTSP-10 (CBS in the Tampa market) aired Jeopardy reruns at 4:30 weekday afternoons in 1996-97. It has also aired Jeopardy reruns on some Saturday nights, while CBS Sports programs have aired on other Saturday nights on 10. Also on some Saturday nights, 10 has aired reruns of nighttime Wheel of Fortune. From 2007 to 2012, WFTS-28 (ABC in the Tampa market) has also aired Saturday reruns of both Wheel and Jeopardy, and for the first two years they were on 28, they aired Jeopardy reruns at 9:30 in the mornings until September 2009.

For 2013, after the return of Wheel and Jeopardy to 10 the previous year, Jeopardy reruns returned at 10:30 in the morning before The Price is Right. When 10 moved Let's Make a Deal to 10:00 in the mornings, the Jeopardy reruns moved to 3:30 in the afternoon before Dr. Phil.

One of my other favorite game shows had been Merv Griffin's Crosswords, which aired locally on 28 for its entire run, as well as for a short period of reruns in late 2008. Too bad Crosswords ended its run in the summer of 2008, but 28 dropped Crosswords reruns before Trivial Pursuit America Plays which was rarer for me to watch than Crosswords.

I had been watching reruns of the 1994-95 season of Wheel of Fortune at the time 28 dropped Crosswords reruns in favor of the 2008 Trivial Pursuit revival starring Christopher Knight from The Brady Bunch, while Crosswords starred soap opera star Ty Treadway.

Since it hit the air on June 1, 2015, BUZZR has had WTVT-DT3 as the affiliate in the Tampa market. It has aired reruns of Blockbusters, Card Sharks, Password Plus, Super Password, Perry's nighttime version of Sale of the Century, and the CBS daytime version of Match Game.

Game Show Network currently airs Wheel reruns once again, this time those of seasons 30 and 31.
